Employee Spotlight | Steve Loher
Steve Loher, CFO, is recognized in our Employee Spotlight for October. On November 3rd, Steve will be celebrating 15 years of service. Over the past 15 years, Steve has seen a lot of change but one thing that has remained consistent is the quality of people. When asked what he likes most about G&W, Steve answered, “We have some great folks working here."
When you are not working, what do you enjoy to do in your free time?
Traveling with my family, riding my motorcycle almost every day, going to see lots of movies with my wife….and I love going to sporting events, especially baseball and hockey. I also love doing some singing gigs with my friend, Corky. Lastly, I am proud to have served as a School Board member in Webster Groves for almost nine years.
If given a chance, who would you be for a day and why?
I admire so many people in many fields for lots of reasons, but I think I would like to be a doctor and provide healing and care, especially for kids, veterans, the elderly, the homeless, etc. A specific person would probably be Vince Gill. I would love to have that kind of talent and be able to entertain people.
What is the one thing you couldn’t live without?
Well, family first. But as a “thing”, I would say music. I love listening to it and performing it (I’m a singer). I think I always have a song playing in my head every waking hour of the day.
How would you define success?
No matter what I’m doing, I want to do it to the best of my ability and I want people to have been happy to have been around me. Being a success in life involves doing good for others and making them feel good. Feeling like you’ve been able to make a difference in someone else’s life.
What is something about yourself that might be surprising?
I am a sucker for puppies and little kids. You get to be a “big kid” around both of them. (Puppies: Sophie, Sammy, and Rudy)
What is your favorite food?
