October Update

Happy Octoberrrrr…we hope everyone enjoyed the 24 hours of fall we experienced in St. Louis. This weather serves as a reminder that it is now officially hockey season! LGB!

As the year end business activities wrap up, we reflect on our Core Values:

Growth, Impact, Value, Excellence and Service and how these values are applied in everyday life at G&W.

Over the past few months, our G&W employees have been out and about supporting organizations such as Divine Nest, Joshua Chamberlain Society (JCS), Construction Career Development Initiative (CCDI), Mission St. Louis, JDRF and Gateway Warrior. Sometimes we lose focus on why we are at these events and what the true impact of supporting these organizations means. As we reflect, below are a just a few highlights from these great events.

This year Mission St. Louis celebrated their 11th Annual Night on the Town Gala raising more than $450,000 for their St Louis Beyond School, Beyond Charity and Beyond Jobs programs. That is $100,000 more than the previous year. To learn more about Mission St Louis, visit their website at http://www.missionstl.org. See how even a small donation can make a huge impact on local families.

Gateway Warrior was another organization that G&W supports. Most recently, we attended their 9th Annual Golf Classic. The Featured Speaker was Nicholas “Gunny Pop” Popaditch, Gunnery Sergeant, United States Marine Corps. This Gateway Warrior Foundation

This year Darrell, Vice-President of G&W, has voluntarily signed up to participate in the 2019 Word Record Baseball Game benefiting the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Oncology Department. This 80-hour event will take place over the 2019 Memorial Day Weekend. Currently, Darrell’s at 25% of his $12,000 fundraising goal. We plan to track Darrell’s progress and highlight those helping to support the Siteman Kids over the next 8 months leading up to the event. Please visit “Donate Now” to help support kids and families struggling with cancer, and check back for monthly updates!

For all the service hours that we are able to spend giving back to the community, we couldn’t do it without the efforts from our employees. Through the dedication of our team, over the past 3 months, we have celebrated a combined total of over 100 years of employee anniversaries. Adding to that number for the month of October are Amanda B. (1 year), Rodger D. (1 year), and Greg G. (5 years). We look forward to this tradition of growth and excellence continuing at G&W.

Cheers to all the great employees, clients and friends who help us celebrate these milestones.
