Meet Scott V.! Scott has been with G&W for five years as a Building Envelope Project Manager. His daily schedule, however, is far from what you might imagine a project manager's would be. Scott does most of the envelope testing for the company so there is rarely a day he spends in the office. Scott loves taking road trips and trips to the lake with family and friends, lucky for him, his job involves many day trips to various sites.
Q: What is your favorite part about working at G&W?
Q: Why did you choose engineering?
My path chose me. My degree and background experience are in Construction Management but, since 1985, I have experienced all sides of the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction community. My experience has led me to a passion for building envelope consulting, testing, and problem solving - an accumulation of my experience across the AEC world.
Q: When you are not working, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy boating, hunting, fishing, restoring my 1967 Pontiac GTO and hanging out at the lake house with friends and family. I take many spontaneous and impromptu road trips to unknown destinations; I call it the real America tour. I also enjoy building things just for the experience and knowledge. I volunteer as president of the Aviston Illinois Zoning board and was recently elected Commander of the Aviston American Legion Post #1239 after serving as the post Senior Vice Commander and Adjutant for the last 4 years.
Q: If given a chance, who would you be for a day and why?
