Employee Spotlight | Wind Fuller

November 15, 2017

This month’s employee spotlight features Wind Fuller, a G&W Engineering Mechanical and Plumbing Designer. As a Mechanical and Plumbing Designer, Wind designs the systems that make buildings comfortable and sanitary. On a  typical work day, Wind reviews equipment submittals, designs HVAC or plumbing systems, draws CAD HVAC or plumbing systems, and generally keeps projects moving toward completion.

Q: When you are not working, what do you enjoy to do in your free time?

  • Family activities - we stay very active with our children’s activities, school functions, sleepovers and such. We kind of live vicariously through our kids. Outdoor activities I enjoy are fishing, hiking, hunting, and gardening. While I don’t get as much time as I would like, gardening is my Zen. I live on what is left of my family’s farm. The quiet, family history, methodical work and production of wonderful healthy vegetables is my refresh.

I remember when they were starting out my uncle was so excited to be able to run HVAC loads on a computer but not having to use punch cards, that’s right punch cards; these days a computer that you can design an entire building on takes up less space than a stack of punch cards.

Q: What values are important to you?

  • I would say Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.  Sounds odd to say, but those things and how they relate to people treating other people, are deeply held values/rights to me.

Q: What is something about yourself that might be surprising?<
